19/02/25: Falcs 0-1 Derby III
Just a short one for the falcs today after a disappointing and frustrating day out imn Derby. A sluggish start saw the falcs disorganised and giving away the ball easily - forcing Durrani to make multiple 1 on 1 saves in the first half. Unfortunately for the falcs Derby managed to sneak one of their chances in, fouling Boris in the process, unbeknownst to the small, smelly man that was todays ref. Going into halftime at 1-0 down finally managed to wake up the falcs from the long and sleepy bus ride on the way. Growing into the game, chances of a goal were looking more likely with Thomas Musie terrorising their right back, including one chance where he was quite clearly taken down for a penalty. Again, it was a no from the ref. Frustration starting to build due to some worldie saves from the keeper andany wrongly called offsides by the derby linos prevented any efforts of the dominating attack of the falcs. The dying minutes of the game saw an almost all out attack for the falcs with sanch pulling the strings as always alongside Cam Kerr, Manthey and later even Durrani . By the last minute, a DFL long throw into the mixer including possibly all 11 falcs, ended with Cam Kerr poking in the equaliser. Finally, something for the falcs efforts. No. Not today. Mere milliseconds after the goal and the derby Lino had his flag up, ignoring the multiple derby players behind the goal line. The ref, having shrunk 3 feet, (as Ross put it) decided to listen to the stupid claims of the derby Lino and the limbs of a last minute equaliser were no more. Now for a long and tired coach ride back to Cambridge for the falcs after a slow but unlucky performance which makes room for error in the title charge even tighter (but still possible, UTFF)
