22/01/25: Blues 2-0 Loughborough II

The Blues welcomed Loughborough 2s to the hallowed fields of Queens, generously allowing them a second chance after they didn’t show up the first time.

Blues did well in the first half, with passionate team-defending and spells of possession moving the sports scholarship having blokes about. After Loughborough’s eagle eyed attackers claimed a shot had gone in, they lost their heads and the Blues capitalised, with an exquisite long range strike from Deniz. Halftime: 1-0

Second half Blues continued spirited performance, with great energy also coming off the bench. In the last ten minutes, the team racked up an xG of 14, but only Asa Campbell was able to convert a tap-in after a good save from a Mylo strike across goal.

End of the day, brilliant 2-0 win and performance. Every single member of the squad worked their socks off and it was a great start to the term. One of the best Blues performances for a long time!

Goals: Deniz Ozer, Asa Campbell
