Kestrels 4-0 Coventry II

Kestrels vs Coventry

MotM: Ebo Aneju

DotD: Cephas Mensah

An early 10am meet saw the boys make the long journey to Coventry to kick-off the first ever Kestrels Cup campaign.

A few minutes into the game, it was clear the Coventry CB partnership was looking worse for wear. This was made pretty obvious after a long ball from BBL was nicely tucked away by a lob from the Coventry CB- a finish many strikers can only dream of.

The kestrels lead was extended shortly after a flick on header from Ebo played Cephas in behind. A composed finish meant the Kestrels were sitting pretty comfortably at 2-0. Some stonewall defending from the one-legged Alex and saves from BBL prevented any retaliation from Coventry.

As half-time drew near, we were rewarded with a free kick on the edge of the box after Joe dribbled his way through the Coventry Defense. After much pleading, Ebo was allowed to take the free kick and deliciously tucked it away in the top right corner (the writer of this is not biased).

Going into the second-half, the boys were 3-0 up and feeling on top of the game. Great defensive work meant Coventry could barely get a sniff of goal. Another lovely through ball from Joe was finished off nicely by Ebo to make it 4-0 and kill the game.

Cephas managed to earn himself DotD with one of the most outrageous bicycle kick attempts that unsurprisingly went for a conversion.

A great day of football and another fantastic result for the boys.
